About the event
From the instructor:
"Flatpicking Step-By-Step" In this 3-4 hour workshop we will start with hands-on warmup/calibration & technique practice, then move on to major scale training & finding basic melodies by ear. From here we will focus on a few standard songs & tunes, using self-accompaniment techniques like Melody/Strum and Crosspicking to craft arrangements. Then we'll move on to classic licks & Bluegrass Vocabulary which we will apply to guitar breaks on these standard songs. We will also explore fiddle tunes and the mindset of making musical variations & how this applies to jamming. Along the way we will brush up on our Bluegrass & Old-Time Rhythm Guitar. Because this will be a mixed group of participants at various levels we won't master everything in-the-moment.
