Schedule of Events

Friday, 7 - 9pm

  • Meet the Artists Reception

    • Get a "taste" of this unique genre of music

    • Q & A with the Artists

    • Refreshments​ (donation beer and wine)

Saturday, 10am - 4pm​

  • Morning Workshops, 10 - noon

  • Lunch, 12:15 to 1pm (pizza, salad, soft drink incl)

  • Afternoon Workshops, 1:15 -4pm

Saturday Evening Concert, 7pm

  • 2 sets with Intermission

  • Refreshments (donation beer and wine)​

Workshop Requirements:

These workshops are designed for fiddlers and guitarists who aleady have basic playing skills, and who have their own instruments.

 

Instructors will sort players by ability levels when needed.

Traditional Western and Old Time Music with the Matthew Hartz Trio

Matthew Hartz is an Idaho native currently living in Boise, Idaho. He is a three-time Grand Masters Fiddle Champion (Nashville, TN) a two-time Grand National Fiddle Champion (Weiser, Idaho), and a two-time World Fiddle Champion (Crockett, Texas).  Matthew currently travels and performs with several touring groups and local bands. He instructs and performs at music camps and workshops across the country.  

 

Hyatt Hopkins, from Walla Walla, Washington, is a multiple award winning guitarist in the Texas-style fiddle and western swing community.  He is recognized for his rock-solid timing, clean tone, and tasteful accompaniment, and is a trusted accompanist for both rising and established fiddlers.  

David Tormala, from Sequim, Washington has had a fiddle in his hands since he was 4 years old. Proficient in a wide array of traditional fiddle styles including Texas, Celtic, Old-time and others, David has won many accolades as a contest fiddler. David is also a multi-instrumentalist with specialties in guitar, tenor guitar and bass and has a special passion for preserving and teaching these rich musical traditions

  • Friday Reception only - $25 

  • Saturday Concert only - $35

  • Fiddle Workshop - $80 (includes reception)

  • Guitar Workshop - $80 (includes reception)

  • Weekend Pass - $130 (includes reception, workshop and concert)

  • Youth Weekend Pass - $40 for players that meet requirements, ages 12 - 17 

  • Children 12 and under are free at the Friday & Saturday evening events

  • NNBA Members get 20% off Friday and Saturday Evening Events

If you're a Violinist, Fiddler or Guitarist interested in playing  styles like Western Swing, Old Time and Celtic, these Workshops are for you! 

And if you're a Bluegrass player, you know how much these skills will apply to your Bluegrass playing!
