40th Annual
Bowers Bluegrass Festival Leadership Team

Seeking Passionate-About-Bluegrass Folks to Join our Team!
2026 bring us the 40th Annual Bowers Bluegrass Festival, and it is truly a benchmark for the Northern Nevada Bluegrass Association. Begun by a small group of pickin' friends back in the 70's, the NNBA has been a crucial player in the development of the Bluegrass "scene" in Northern Nevada ever since. Our 40th Festival will be extra special!
The Festival Leadership Team will consist 8 to 10 people who will meet once a month to review the Festival Timeline* and create their next month's "to do list". The members of the team will also serve as Crew Leaders at the Festival in August. Percs include logo merchandise, free admission to NNBA events, and other miscellaneous goodies. We're looking at the possibility of providing scholarship funds for any team member thinking about a profession in the Bluegrass Music industry, to be applied toward attending the 2027 IBMA Bluegrass Leadership Conference in Nashville. Several alumi of this program live right here in Reno, and would be happy to provide the required recommendations and mentorship.
If you'd like to join our dynamic and fun-loving team, check out the information below. The Festival Leadership Team will provide monthly reports to the NNBA Board of Directors, and the Directors are available to provide any guidance or assistance needed. The amount of time commitment varies, but is not onerous enough to conflict with work or school schedules.
Team members should be able to describe their experience in one or more of the following areas:
Website/social media/email skills - don't have to be a "developer", just someone who can navigate the software we use.
Marketing skills - doing research and "legwork" to find suitable and affordable marketing options to submit to the Board.
Grant writing - our "veteran" grant writer (Cindy Gray) can tutor you on this. It looks scary at first, but gets easier!
Production coordination - managing all aspects of Festival Production while staying within budget parameters, includes LOTS of pre-planning, documentation, and communication with the Board
Recruiting and Managing Volunteers - Volunteer teams need to be assembled and trained in advance of the August Festival
